Questions for the artist

Q. How did you get started in your particular craft? What drew you to it in the first place?
A. I was working at a place that made dance, cheer, and school athletic wear.
I had all was been interested in sewing from a very early age. And I loved things embroidered and appliqued. So when they asked me to take over the department I was quite scarred. I had never used a machine quite like this before. There were 6 machines and each had 12 needles on them but once I started I was hooked. I was with them for about 5 yrs. and then I thought I can do this on my own and so that is when I started my own company business. I only have 2 embroidery machines now just started with one. So I have grown over the last 4 years.
Q.  How do you overcome the times you are feeling uninspired?
A. I look at new trends and see what is out there.New movies and Disney is always a good one. I even pick up children's  coloring books and look through them. And at any thing I think I can hoop and embroidery on. My motto Is If I can hoop it and it fits on the machine then I will embroidery it.

Q.  Where can we see more of your work?
A. I have an Etsy page that is where I started it is at http://www.twostars321.etsy.com/

and my best place where you can see everything and meet a lot of really nice people is on my facebook page we have a lot of fun there. It is
http://www.facebook.com/twostars321

Q.  Do you have any advice for someone just starting out ?
A.  Oh now this is a hard one. I wish I had some one to answer that one for me 4 years ago. My best advise would be don't give up to easily look around and see what people are wanting in anything you are wanting to do. Talk to people and don't be afraid to get your feet wet. And most of all give your 100% and always give good customer service that is the key to any business and listen to your customers. I have been so blessed and am so thankful to all of my customers, they are the best. And the best advertisement are them I have been very blessed because all of my business has been word of mouth. So if you have one happy customer and they tell just one person and so on who knows where you will go from there and I thank God for giving me a great talent and my family. If you have those to main things behind you, You can't fail.

 Q.  What’s your favorite medium to work with ?
A. I would have to say fabric. Because to look at just a flat peace of material and then be able to make something out of it. It is like a sculptor and a peace of wood or marble. It is just a blank canvas to a painter. I love all kinds of mediums I love to paint and in general just make things with my hands. I can look at something and imagine it as something else.
